How Meditation Coaching Sessions Work
We start every session with a conversation. I want to know what's going on in your life, what you've tried before, and what you're hoping to change. From there, we explore techniques together. I guide you through them in real time, answer your questions, and adjust based on how your mind and body respond. We might explore breath-awareness meditation, a body scan, or a simple mantra practice — whatever fits for where you are and where you want to go.
You'll leave each session with specific practices to use on your own, matched to your goals and your lifestyle. Over time, we build on what works and refine what doesn't. Every program is tailored to what you need.

I'm Ri — ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, certified meditation and breathwork coach, and board member of the Community Yoga Center in Maryville, TN. I’m a firm believer that real wellness doesn't have to be complicated or mystical. With 13+ years of experience working with everyone from healthy, active adults to clients navigating cancer, Parkinson's, ALS, and mental health challenges, I've seen what happens when people finally learn to quiet their minds. My approach is practical, secular, and rooted in evidence — not philosophy. We work together to find what actually fits your life, and then we build it.

None at all. Most of my clients come in as complete beginners — and honestly, that can be an advantage. You don't have any habits to unlearn. We'll start exactly where you are.
I've tried meditating before but couldn't stop my thoughts. Does that mean it won't work for me?

This is the most common concern I hear — and it's based on a myth. Mind wandering isn't failure; it's the practice. Every time you notice your mind has wandered and bring it back, that is the mental rep. That's how it works. I'll show you why distraction is actually a sign of progress.
Is meditation religious or spiritual?

The techniques I teach are completely secular and evidence-based. You don't need to adopt any belief system or philosophy. Meditation is a tool for your nervous system — nothing more, nothing less. That said, if you do have a spiritual practice, these techniques integrate beautifully with it.
How long until I notice results?
